MY LATEST WORK
The project I just finished working on is my senior honors thesis. For this project I built a wearable lighting controller and used it for a movement based work.
To build this I took an accelerometer and an Arduino and attached them to an arm warmer to make a device that repsonds to an actor's movement. I used Open Sound Control to send message to EOS and controlled stage lighting with this device.
My name is Aleksandra Combs, and I have been fascinated with lighting since high school.
My senior year of high school I worked backstage in our production of Alice in Wonderland as a followspot operator. After that I went on to University of Wisconsin-Madison and got a degree in technical theatre with an emphasis in light design. Since high school I have been working as an electrician, followspot op, programmer, and designer.
